Turtlenecks in August.

I'm going to assume that all of you readers are in the Northern hemisphere and understand that turtlenecks are not usually worn this time of year. I was just outside and it's rainy and very chilly. And you know what? I AM NOT COMPLAINING. While I am loathe to let the dogs out very much in this kind of weather because of the amount of towels it takes to dry their super absorbent coats (seriously - aren't they supposed to be WATER DOGS?), after several days last week where it was in the upper 90s and 100 degrees, I am thoroughly enjoying this weather. I was so glad to be at the coast last weekend (did I mention I was at the coast last weekend? I can't remember) because it's always at least 20 degrees cooler there. When I got back on Sunday (from the coast!) the house felt like a steam bath. But the best thing about the cooler weather, besides Mr. Zoo not having to deal with Irritable Crabby Zoo, is that the dogs get their groove back. Vinnie has been absolutely full of beans today. They go from this:

Bubbzies!!!! Aren't dogs just about the best thing ever?! I know what you mean both about the super absorbent coats on labs ... and also about welcoming the cooler weather. I've been wishing for some sweater weather for weeks already. I'll kick myself for saying that in February, though!

You were at the coast? hehe. :)

"Bubbzies"

that totally made me LOL!

I will also be complaining about this weather come January. But for now I'm trying to grin and enjoy it. :P

I just wrote an almost identical blog about the weather. I am lovin' this nice cool down, but I had the same thought about complaining in January. Remind me that I was happy to have the rain come, will ya?
